Shirleymae and Frank Conte married as High School Sweethearts 56 years ago! They have always worked along side each other and have been successful running many businesses including: Conte Productions, Conte’s Aaron Overhead Door, Conte’s Executive Auto Sales, Conte’s Executive Scooters, Conte’s Consignment Center, California State Automotive Association AAA towing business, Conte’s Paint & Body Shop, Tortilla Inn Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge, Automotive Care By Conte, and a Motel in Seaside, California. Mrs. Conte Crochetes Afghans to sell and also had a Jewelry business named Dazzling Elegance; as well as, a hat business in 9 states called “Count Francisco of Pebble Beach” where she designed and made the hats …and probably more they haven’t mentioned!
Mrs. Conte was a Cub Scout Den Mother while raising 4 children for about 4 or 5 years.
She was a Jacobs Heart Children’s Cancer Association – Board Member and worked the Fund Raisers. She is Past President of the Monterey Civic Club for 2 years– Chairing and producing their major fund raiser the “Cascarone Ball” for 3 years.
She has been a Board Member of Zonta International – Working their major fund raisers.
Mr. Conte and Mrs. Conte together founded and produced the “Frank Conte Invitational” Golf Tournament Benefiting the Monterey Special Olympics for 10 years.
Frank Conte formed the band “The Conte Four” with the motto of “Music for your Dancing and Listening Pleasure” touring California, Nevada, and cruise circuits, performing for Presidents and became well known in many circles. He has sung with The Mills Brothers, played music for the Lawrence Welk Dancers and many more! Shirleymae Conte was the Booking agent for the “Conte 4” for many years. Also designing and making some of their wardrobe.
Frank Conte recently put together a new band and is still singing and playing his trumpet!
Conte Productions continues their love of music by producing shows like “Al Martino”, “The Coasters, Platters, and Drifters”, “The Rat Pack”, and recently “The Mills Brothers”. They are always planning the next event.
Mrs. Conte’s main theme or saying is: “Out of something Bad, something Good happens!” Hence the development of Conte’s Consignment Center in March 2009!
Another new adventure for the good of all which is their motto in life…live with passion!
